Khaled Masri is involved in the strategic planning of the project and works with the Board of Directors and management to guide the implementation of the project’s developmental objectives.
Khaled is also the President of Arab Supply & Trading Co (Astra Group), the parent company of Ayla, and Vice Chairman of Astra Industrial Group. Astra is a diversified company with presence in Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the rest of the Middle East, with business activities in agriculture, trading, construction, real estate, health care, manufacturing, steel, telecommunications, hospitality and banking.
Khaled also served as the chairman of Cairo Amman Bank from 1999 to 2012, and is the vice chairman of Zara Investment Holding Co, the leading hospitality company in Jordan which owns the Grand Hyatt Amman, Intercontinental, Amman, and the Movenpick Hotels in Petra, Aqaba, and the Dead Sea.
Khaled holds a master’s degree in business administration from Georgetown University and a B.Sc. in computer science and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States.
