Aqaba to Host 1st Ayla International Art Symposium

Three man-made blue lagoons with a total area of 750000 m², and comprising a constellation of 17 white sand beaches are spread over the Ayla community.

Aqaba to Host 1st Ayla International Art Symposium

Ayla Oasis Development Company (Ayla), one of the largest tourism and real estate development companies in the Kingdom of Jordan, is set to host the inaugural edition of Ayla International Art Symposium at Ayla, a world-class residential and leisure destination located in the city of Aqaba in Jordan.

To run from 3 to 13 November, the unique art event will invite leading Jordanian, Arab and international artists to showcase their creative works over ten days. The event will allow art lovers to explore galleries representing diverse art schools from around the world.


Osama Ganom, Director, Marketing and Communications at Ayla, said: “As an integrated community, Ayla regularly hosts a variety of events and activities that appeal to a broad spectrum of residents and visitors cutting across various age groups, cultures and interests. In organizing the first of its kind international symposium in Aqaba, Ayla seeks to support cultural activities in Jordan and promote Aqaba’s tourism sector through encouraging art lovers to visit Ayla’s galleries as well as our advanced community facilities.”


Welcoming artists to the symposium that is set to draw high footfall, Ganom added: “In convening artists representing various art schools under one roof, Ayla International Art Symposium will offer a unique cultural and artistic experience for art lovers. The Ayla team is working round the clock to ensure the successful running of the event and cater to all requirements of participants and visitors.”



Held under the supervision of renowned Jordanian artist Mohammed AlJaloos, the symposium will be attended by 19 prominent artists including Aziz Ammoura and Dr. Khalid Khreis (Jordan), Nabil Anani and Suleiman Mansour (Palestine), Wael Darweash (Egypt), Fakhir Mohammed and Serwan Baran (Iraq), Mohammed Atiq (Qatar), Balqees Fakhro (Bahrain), Rashid Diab from Sudan, Ahmed Jaride (Morocco), Faten Chouba (Tunisia), Nadia Safieddine (Lebanon), Monica Zamudio (Mexico), Martina Buracchi (Italy), Poonam Chandrika (India), Rusudan Khizanishvil (Georgia), Svetlana Rumak (Russia), and Bahram Hajuo (Germany).

Earlier in October, Ayla held the Ayla Land Art Symposium in collaboration with the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts. Running until November 2, the event attracted 22 Jordanian, Arab and international artists, drawing world attention to Aqaba as an emerging art destination in the region. Ayla is a leading waterfront resort destination located in the coastal city of Aqaba.
