Preparations Underway for Launch of Jordan’s First Golf Club.
Ayla Golf Academy, the first golf academy in the Kingdom of Jordan, conducted a four-day training course for junior golf aspirants in Aqaba.
Drawing the participation of 12 junior golf aspirants aged between 9 and 14 years from within the local community, the course included an introduction to golf and its importance, the rules of the game, as well as practical sessions where participants could learn basic golfing skills using clubs to make short and long-distance shots.
Chris White, Director of Operations at Ayla and a leading expert in the management and operation of global golf courses, said: “This initiative articulates our sustained efforts to identify and support young golfing talents who can elevate the standards of the game in Jordan. Such efforts serve as a precursor to the launch of Jordan’s first golf club on 30 September, 2016.”
He added: “We are committed to attracting and developing young golfers through offering them a chance to enroll in advanced training programs and benefit from facilities that will enhance the country’s reputation in the international golfing circuit.”
He added: “The academy currently under development will offer weekly training sessions – open to beginners as well as amateurs aged between 9 and 50 years – running from 6am to 11pm every day. We invite anyone keen to learn and play this exciting sport to join our specialized courses that are on par with the highest international standards.”
Ayla will offer golfing professionals and enthusiasts world-class facilities including Jordan’s first 18-hole championship golf course designed by the legendary Greg Norman, a 9-hole training facility, a golf club, a golf academy and a number of allied golf comfort stations. These facilities stretch over 120 hectares of lush and verdant landscapes and offer stunning waterfront views.
