Ayla Oasis Development Company announced the sponsorship of the Jordanian Open Golf Championship 2015 taking place on 28-29 August at Bisharat Golf Club in Amman, Jordan.
The tournament will kick off under the auspices of the Secretary General of the Jordan Olympic Committee, Lana Al Jaghbir, with the participation of more than 50 local and international players representing countries including the United States, England, Ireland, Scotland, South Africa, Australia, Canada, Iraq, Egypt, Korea and Japan, along with the Jordanian players.
Throughout the past three years, Ayla continued supporting golf activities to develop and leverage the game globally, in order to be one of the main attractions for amateur and professional players of different ages and groups.
In addition, Ayla Oasis Development Company is finalising the largest 18-hole Signature Golf Course in Jordan in accordance with the highest workmanship standards. The Golf course is designed by the legendary Greg Norman, one of the world’s leading golf course designers. During his visit to Ayla he confirmed that it is among the top-three most eco-friendly golf courses in the world.
Norman added: “The work Ayla has put into the project in terms of water conservancy and creating power through solar panels on the golf course is considerable, and goes hand in hand with the project’s eco-friendliness. This will strengthen the concept of sustainability and environment preservation of the project’s infrastructure.”
Ayla’s Signature Golf Course is scheduled to kick off local and international tournaments as soon after its public launch.
The development also contains a special golf academy, the first of its kind in Jordan. The academy will have a 9-hole golf course designed to train those who want to learn and practice golf, in addition to comfort stations and service facilities. The course is surrounded by beautiful greenery, landscape that includes lakes and outspread residential areas, increasing the aesthetic aspects and accessibility.
Lana Al Jaghbir highlighted the importance of supporting and sponsoring this sports event and strengthening its position among the other sports locally and globally as it helps attracting a new form of global tourism and serves as a resource enhancing the status of Jordan globally.
