Ayla joined Jordanians in celebrating the 79th anniversary of the independence of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, expressing deep pride in the country, its journey, leadership, and achievements. The destination was transformed into a patriotic canvas that embodied the values of pride and belonging, through a vibrant atmosphere that blended folklore, heritage, and authentic Jordanian creativity.
Ayla’s public spaces were adorned with national flags and banners waving high, including a prominent display of the Jordanian flag at the entrance of the commercial district. The beaches of Ayla were also decorated with flags, adding a distinct national touch to the surroundings.
Under the patronage of the Aqaba Governorate, Ayla launched a special initiative to distribute standardized Jordanian flags mounted on poles to all public institutions and government departments across the city. These flags were specially prepared for this cherished occasion, in a move that reinforces collaboration and unity among the various entities operating within the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.
On this occasion, Aqaba Governor Khaled Al-Hajaj stated: “We are proud of the Independence Day celebrations taking place across Ayla and Aqaba. Through these events, we express our strong sense of belonging to this homeland, its Hashemite leadership, and its generous people. This national initiative reflects our deep pride in the Jordanian flag and reaffirms our commitment to Jordan’s progress under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein.”
For his part, Mansour Al-Kabariti, Public Relations Manager at Ayla, expressed his pride in organizing this special celebration, stating: “Our participation in Ayla’s Independence Day celebrations reflects our continued commitment to engaging in national occasions that strengthen belonging and instill pride in our country and its Hashemite leadership. We believe our role as a Jordanian institution extends beyond tourism and economic development to include the reinforcement of national values and showcasing the beauty of Aqaba as a cultural and touristic destination that resonates with a deep sense of identity.”
He added: “Celebrating Independence Day is a core part of Ayla’s annual calendar of national events. It is a deeply rooted approach that reflects our pride in Jordan’s journey and embodies the values of achievement and determination that have long distinguished this beloved nation under its Hashemite leadership.”
The daily celebration program featured performances of patriotic music by the Jordan Armed Forces Band. Ayla staff, dressed in traditional Jordanian attire, distributed sweets to visitors and guests, adding a unique cultural touch to the festivities.
Celebrations extended to Ayla’s beaches, where Jordanian flags were artistically displayed, forming designs and visuals inspired by Jordan’s history—creating a striking scene that captivated the attention of visitors.
Amid the festive atmosphere, visitors expressed admiration for Ayla’s creative tribute to Jordanian pride, delivered through a seamless blend of tradition and modernity.
