The Jordan Golf Federation and Ayla Oasis Development Company recently signed a cooperation agreement, to support local golf and build national teams to compete in major tournaments.

This ongoing strategic partnership between the Federation and Ayla is part of a comprehensive vision embraced by both sides to promote and introduce golf to various segments of society, encouraging their participation, particularly among juniors and women, and reaching advanced professional levels.

This collaboration will enhance efforts to develop golf in the kingdom, improve its facilities in different regions, attract regional and international tournaments, and enable Jordanian participation in foreign championships.

Ayla’s Managing Director, Sahl Dudin, emphasized the importance of this cooperation with the Federation and the role entrusted to Ayla as the main private sector institution that has worked on providing world-class infrastructure for golf at the national level. This places a significant responsibility on Ayla to develop this sport, support the efforts of the Federation and the national team, and contribute to building a solid foundation, including referees, coaches, infrastructure, and organization.

Dudin also highlighted the importance of golf activities in supporting the promotion of tourism in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone, achieving a qualitative leap in sports and recreational tourism.

The President of the Jordan Golf Federation, Dr. Nidal Al-Majali, expressed his gratitude to Ayla for their efforts in developing local golf, considering this cooperation as a cornerstone in supporting the formation of national teams from all categories capable of competing and succeeding at the continental and international levels in the coming years.

Dr. Al-Majali reviewed the partnership’s objectives, which aimed at improving the infrastructure of golf facilities, building a base of trainers and referees at the local level, hosting international events and tournaments, and contributing to the development of youth leagues leading to global and regional representation, as in the case of the Jordan Open Championship, a world-class event.

The cooperation between Ayla and the Jordan Golf Federation opens wide possibilities for promoting and introducing golf to different segments of society, encouraging their participation, especially among juniors and women, developing Jordanian golf, improving golf facilities across the kingdom, participating in continental, international, and local golf championships, and building upon previous successes in this field.

According to the agreement, six junior tournaments will be conducted during the year to activate golf activities, programs, and local tournaments, contributing to the promotion of the game, and expanding the number of players. Additionally, support will be provided for the Golf in Schools project and the hosting of the Jordan Open Championship.

The cooperation agreement signed by both parties aims to solidify Jordan’s position as a major golf destination among global sports events, supporting the promotion of tourism in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone and at the national level.
