Recognized as one of the largest amateur golf tournaments globally, the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup reinforces Ayla’s position as a key destination on the regional and international golf calendar.
This year’s edition features 60 players representing a diverse range of nationalities, including Jordan, the United Kingdom, Scotland, Thailand, France, Spain, and the United States. Their participation highlights the growing stature of golf in the Kingdom and the world-class infrastructure that Ayla continues to offer.
Commenting on the occasion, Eng. Sahl Dudin, Managing Director of Ayla Oasis Development Company, stated: “We are proud to host this prestigious tournament in partnership with Turkish Airlines. This collaboration is a testament to Ayla’s commitment to elevating its presence on the global golf map and reinforcing its role as a leading destination for both professional and amateur players from across the region and beyond.”
Eng. Dudin reaffirmed Ayla’s readiness to deliver an exceptional tournament experience, underscoring the event’s role in providing Jordanian players the opportunity to compete internationally while fostering talent development. He also noted Ayla Golf Club’s distinguished standing as one of the world’s most sustainable golf courses—recently honored with four accolades at the 2024 Sustainable Luxury Awards.
Returning to Aqaba for the second time, the tournament’s qualifying round is once again being held at Ayla following the success of its 2024 edition, which drew wide international participation. Known for its intensity, excitement, and high standards, the competition spans both qualifying and final rounds, offering a unique platform for players worldwide to advance to the grand finals.
The tournament enjoys significant global visibility, with winners from dozens of international qualifying rounds—including one hosted at Ayla—advancing to the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup Grand Finals.
Ayla’s selection as a host venue reflects the club’s exceptional quality, performance standards, and internationally recognized sustainability credentials. Designed by legendary golfer Greg Norman, Ayla Golf Club is Jordan’s first 18-hole championship course and has received multiple global awards for its design, quality, and environmental leadership.
With a proven track record in hosting world-class sporting events, Ayla has previously organized landmark tournaments such as the Ayla Mixed Golf Championship—the first of its kind globally—and the Journey to Jordan leg of the MENA Golf Tour. Spanning 800,000 square meters, the award-winning course features undulating fairways, crystal lagoons, dramatic elevation changes, and multi-directional holes—delivering a truly world-class golf experience in the heart of Aqaba.
