The closing ceremony was held under the patronage of Ramzi Kabariti, Commissioner for Entrepreneurship and Community Development at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, and Honorable MP Abd Al-Basit Kabarati, with the participation of Ayla’s executive management team.

The results, based on the Stableford scoring system, were as follows: Guillaume Bode secured first place with 44 points, followed by Yehya Barakat in second place with 43 points, and Steve Clifton in third place with 42 points. Chris Bentley recorded the best gross score with a total of 77 strokes.

Dr. Taner Erim, General Manager of Turkish Airlines in Aqaba, expressed his enthusiasm:
“We are delighted to host this tournament in Aqaba for the first time and hope it becomes a recurring event on the city’s sports calendar. We’ve proudly welcomed many competitors in Antalya, and we look forward to creating more great memories this year.”

Supported this year by Gloria Hotels & Resorts and Rock & Mall, the tournament witnessed intense and competitive matches at Ayla Golf Club, featuring a distinguished group of professional and amateur players from across the globe. The Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup is regarded as one of the largest amateur golf tours worldwide.

Jordanian players competed alongside elite athletes from the UK, Scotland, Thailand, France, Spain, and the United States—an experience that contributed to raising the performance level of local players and showcased the growing stature of golf in Jordan.

Mansour Kabariti, Public Relations Manager at Ayla Oasis Development Company, expressed pride in hosting this prestigious event, highlighting it as a testament to Ayla’s strong partnership with Turkish Airlines. This collaboration reinforces Ayla’s strategy of organizing world-class events and maintaining leadership in both the sports and tourism sectors across the region. He emphasized Ayla’s status and Aqaba’s growing prominence as a key destination for golf enthusiasts and professionals from around the world.

He added that the high level of competition demonstrated Ayla’s capability in hosting major international tournaments, while also fostering the development of local talents and encouraging Jordanian youth to compete at a global level. It further cemented Ayla Golf Club’s global recognition as one of the most sustainable golf courses, recently winning four prestigious awards at the 2024 Sustainable Luxury Awards.

The Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup is renowned for its excitement and competitiveness throughout all stages—both qualifiers and finals. This marks the second time the tournament’s qualifying round has been held in Aqaba, with a previous edition hosted at Ayla Golf Club in November 2024 that saw significant international participation.

The tournament garners global attention, with winners of the dozens of qualifier rounds—one of which is hosted at Ayla—progressing to the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup Grand Finals.

Turkish Airlines, which flies to more countries than any other airline globally, is a prominent supporter of international sports. The airline proudly organized this tournament in Aqaba as part of a global series held in over 130 cities across 83 countries, with more than 10,000 amateur players participating since its inception in 2013.

Winners of each local qualifier advance to the grand finals, where they enjoy a professional-level experience at the Gloria Golf Club and stay at the luxurious Gloria Serenity Resort on Turkey’s Golf Coast. Finalists benefit from a unique opportunity to compete under true championship conditions, vying for the title of Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup Champion 2025. All finalists will travel to Turkey in Turkish Airlines’ renowned Business Class, known for its comfort and premium service.

This tournament is part of Turkish Airlines’ broader sports sponsorship portfolio, which includes the Turkish Airlines Open on the DP World Tour, Challenge Tour events, and the Ladies European Tour—efforts that have firmly positioned Antalya as a leading international golf destination.
